Sybille Hotz | body talk "I often use quotes from song lyrics of my youth, they express a feeling that is associatively linked to the artistic work" Sybille Hotz Following the concept of the suitcase sculptures, in May 2016 Sybille Hotz will create a textile, installative work for the greenhouse. Usually Sybille Hotz uses textile material for creating stuffed sculptures, or embroidery on cotton and other fabrics. For the suitcase sculptures she sets the treatment aside – only the pure material, the coloured raw panels, serve as material for a minimalistic spatial sculpture. The material is light and foldable – easy to carry in a suitcase. 10 panels will structure the innerspace of the greenhouse rhytmically, 2 bodies overlapping in the middle of the space, communicating with their different colours and shapes – body talk. The soft, curved colourpanels make music and movement spatially perceptible, creating an emotional and lyrical notation - refering to her installation "under the lime tree" from 2012 at super bien!. The title "my body is my sculpture is my memory is my home" from 2015 itemizes the subjects of Sybille Hotz's artistic work.It points out the connection between mind and body and the possibility of an inscription of unconcious memories on the body. Sybille Hotz creates emotional spaces by triggering memories and making textile drawings, sculptures and installations physically tangible. (www.shotzs.de).
